About Us

Fruition Horticulture (BOP) Ltd. is a horticultural consultancy, research, and educational organisation engaged in industry training for the last 20 years. We have been registered and accredited with NZQA since 2006, becoming a recognised education provider with strong links to the horticulture and viticulture industries. In our most recent government review we were awarded the highest-level rating, a Category 1 status with NZQA.

Our Mission

At Fruition, our mission is to make Aotearoa New Zealand’s primary sector more sustainable and successful. One way we do this is by growing the knowledge base of the industry through appropriate training programmes. We believe that people are our most valuable resource and there is growing recognition of the need to further invest in people through quality vocational education. The global demand for New Zealand produce means we must keep building the capacity of a skilled workforce to meet the needs of horticultural enterprises across the country; our industry depends on it.

Services & Education

Fruition provides services in the areas in which we have a permanent physical presence: the Bay of Plenty, Hawke’s Bay, Nelson and Marlborough. In other regions throughout Aotearoa New Zealand, we deliver off-job training on behalf of Te Pūkenga. We offer our flagship programme, the Fruition Diploma in Horticulture Production (Level 6) both in the classroom and online throughout Aotearoa New Zealand via distance learning, and various other programmes such as Hei Whanake: Introduction To Horticulture within key areas across the country.

Our approach to education is unique in our sector and we welcome the chance to chat with anyone considering a career in horticulture. We look forward to working together in an industry where nature and people combine to fulfil desires for greater wellbeing and prosperity.

Jordan Hetterley-Ngaia

Kia ora whānau, ko Jordan tōku ingoa. I’m the Hastings kaiako for the Hei Whanake programme, bringing a strong background in horticulture and the primary sector into my teaching. Through my journey, I’ve gained hands-on experience across different areas of the industry, shaping both my skills and my passion for working alongside people.

I’ve lived through a range of experiences and challenges, navigating obstacles with resilience and determination. These experiences shape how I show up — with authenticity, empathy, and a strong focus on whanaungatanga.

My passion is people. I’m driven by the desire to support learners from all walks of life to build confidence, discover their strengths, and realise that what once felt out of reach is achievable. I create practical, hands-on learning environments where learners feel supported, challenged, and empowered to grow.

Hei Whanake offers opportunities to develop essential life and employability skills, build strong connections, and engage in meaningful, hands-on learning. I’m committed to walking alongside learners and their whānau, supporting them to set goals and create pathways into employment or further opportunities.
